What's not as enjoyable, however, is that the tera gold technology surrounding that combat. The artwork style, taking cues from anime and similar cartoon fashions, does appeal to the eye. The sport cannot conceal its age however; I instantly see noticeable chips in the armor. Everything appears obsolete, from the environments to the character's animations. There is a very last-gen sense to the game, which will turn some players off right in the jump. I used ton't mind the dated visuals after a while, but they are certainly evident from the get-go.

While the world might not hold up to modern standards, TERA's customization package does. I receive a ton of choices from the jump in order to build the exact character I want. Gender, race, color scheme, class, you name it I will change it. Some races don't have genders, such as the Baraka, but that is one of only a few constraints. I can only expect Bluehole makes them available to the console crowd shortly. Fortunately they're not a massive cheap tera gold reduction, as the available courses like the Berserker, Lancer, and Priest provide me plenty of ways to perform .

Moving into this review I was afraid TERA Online would adhere too tightly to the standard MMO tropes. I emphasized that I would make a personality, slog round the tutorial, and finally be bored after a few hours. None of that occurred. Instead, TERA did a fantastic job of pulling in, keeping me around, and gaining my admiration. It's not an ideal name, as six years of existence have generated a couple of unavoidable quirks. Not one of them violate the encounter, however, which makes TERA a no-brainer to get at least a trial run. PC-caliber MMOs used to be a pipe dream, but today with games like TERA Online, they're a reality.
